This cheerful shape is perfect for storing a range of dried food. At home I use these for housing lentils, oats, tea and so on. I make this shape in two sizes, this is the taller of the two.

A tall squared lidded store jar. This pot is thrown on the wheel without a base, allowing me to square it whilst it is soft on the wheel. When leather hard I join it's base. The lid is hand-built with a pulled knob on top.

The outside of the pot is the colour of the clay with just the salt and ash, naturally ranging in colour on the different faces of the pot and even top to bottom. The inside has a celadon glaze, merging into tenmoku brown where heavily reduced.
