Set of six medium handmade buttons.

These buttons are rather special as I made them some time ago, and fired them in Micki’s wood-fired slat glaze kiln. I have fondly kept them tucked away until now.

Buttons have always been a little treat to make in the evening for me. Each button is made from a tiny ball of clay which is shaped in the palm of my hand, with edges carefully softened. Holes are cut using a beautiful old tool I inherited from a dear friend. Glazed lustrous brown - pale salt glaze green.

The approx. size of each button is 15mm diameter, 3mm thick.

Care: These are very high fired and made of a very durable clay. Once sewn onto a garment it can either be hand washed or machine washed on a gentle cycle - I would suggest putting the garment inside a protective washing bag or pillowcase whilst in the washing machine.
